Shakespeers Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 6, 2022

Speakeasy Events, Inc., doing business as Shakespeers (“Shakespeers” or “we”) provides a platform where parents can help their kids become better and more confident writers. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information that we receive through our website located at www.shakespeers.com (the “Site”) and our communications with you (collectively, the “Services”). It also serves as a way to help you understand and exercise your privacy rights. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party websites, services, or applications, even if they are accessible through our Services.

Revisions to this Privacy Policy

Any information that is collected via our Services is covered by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected. We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we’ll notify you of those changes by posting them within the Services or by sending you an email or other notification, and we’ll update the “Last Updated” date above to indicate when those changes become effective.

Scope of the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to both Site visitors (“Visitors”) and individuals who have chosen to register for an account (“Account Holders”)  (all such users of the Services are collectively referred to as “Users” or “you”).

Children’s Privacy

You must be at least 18 years of age in order to register for a Shakespeers account. We enforce this by requiring a valid payment method be provided. Account Holders may create profiles within their account for their children to use (“Children”), as the Services are intended to be a place where parents can help their kids improve and anonymously share their writing. However, Shakespeers does not request or collect any Personal Information (defined below) from Children or from anyone who is using a profile created by the Parent / Account Holder. Furthermore, we explicitly inform both Account Holders and children using their profiles that Children should not provide or submit any Personal Information in the course of their use of the Services. Children are not permitted to use their real names as screen names, nor to include personal information about themselves or others in any content they write and publish on the Site. In the event that we become aware that any Personal Information has been provided by or about anyone under the age of 16, we will act to delete that information. When we refer to “you” or “Users” in this Privacy Policy in the course of explaining our privacy practices, we are referring to Site Visitors and Accounts Holders (as applicable), not to Children who are allowed to use profiles under their parents’ account. To learn more about our privacy practices, you can contact us at privacy@shakespeers.com.
